Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking Registered Practical Nurses to provide planned, patient‑centered nursing care to residents in our retirement residence in Markham. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care and ensure compliance with provincial standards.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• RPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication.
• RPNs implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plans and make changes as required.
• RPNs complete and ensure resident’s clinical care assessments, care plans and documentation are accurate, up to date and communicate changes as required.
• RPNs teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching & mentorship.
