Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform routine repairs and minor maintenance across our Canadian residences, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on delivering superior service to residents while maintaining safe, well-kept facilities.

You will work on electrical, plumbing, heating and carpentry tasks, paint and maintain exterior grounds, and support safety reporting. Strong English communication and the ability to lift heavy objects are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently and regulate own work.
• Capable of performing physical duties including moving heavy objects.
• Familiar with and able to carry out minor repairs to facility and equipment (plumbing, electrical, heating, etc.).
• Knowledge of health and safety principles; willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check/Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Executes routine repairs and minor maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing equipment and building.
• Paints, performs minor carpentry and maintains exterior grounds.
• Inspects premises regularly for maintenance and safety, files reports with supervisor.
