Boardwalk Retirement Community in Calgary is seeking a friendly dining service server to welcome residents, present menus, take orders, and deliver meals with warmth and professionalism.

This role emphasizes teamwork with the culinary staff, ensuring clean dining areas, assisting with setup, and supporting special events. A high school diploma and food safety training are preferred. Flexible shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays; competitive wages and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years of serving experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Certification of mandatory training in public health and sanitation (Food Handling Permit) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for Residents.
• Present the menu, take written orders and communicate special requests to the culinary team.
• Serve meals and beverages to Residents in a courteous and professional manner to their satisfaction and comfort.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery as required.
• Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Assist the culinary team in preparing, portioning, and serving simple items (i.e., beverages, soups, salads, desserts).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas including deep cleaning when required.
• Assist with housekeeping including light dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing linens and making beds as needed.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
• Be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it.
• Attend in-service training as required to better serve the needs of the Residents.
• Attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the workplace.
• Uphold and promote the organization's values and ethics as set out in the Code of Conduct and Handbook.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned.
