Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks an Active Living Aide to assist in planning, organizing and implementing engaging programs for residents in our Canadian retirement residences. You will work closely with the Active Living Manager to deliver meaningful activities and outings, fostering well-being and social connection.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and strong communication. Experience with seniors and a valid driver’s license are preferred; accommodation options may be available.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Energetic, compassionate and enjoy working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver’s license to transport residents by van.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents.
• Maintain department records including assessments and participation charts.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, volunteers and staff.
• Attend in-service education on elder care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan activities.
• Escort residents to outings and assist with activities.
• Assess individual resident activity levels and plan daily activities.
• Assist with meal services as needed.
• Maintain trust and uphold ethics and integrity.
