The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair, efficient and competitive capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, to foster capital formation, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk. This mandate is performed through policy, operational, and enforcement activities. The OSC also contributes to national and global securities regulation development. The OSC’s Enforcement Division is recruiting for Senior Litigation Counsel to join their Regulatory Litigation Team or their Criminal Investigations & Prosecutions Team.
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on a multi-disciplinary team, as Senior Litigation Counsel, you will help guide complex investigations and identify potential breaches of Ontario securities law.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience and be or are able to become a lawyer licensee of the Law Society of Ontario in good standing.
Previous experience leading large or complex hearings or trials is essential.
As Senior Litigation Counsel you will gain valuable advocacy experience and mentoring opportunities. You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a leading-edge team leveraging an innovative mix of traditional investigative techniques, data analytics, and open source intelligence analysis to investigate and prosecute complex cases.
