What is the opportunity?

As Manager of Asset Recovery & Litigation, you support the protection of RBC assets including mitigating financial, reputation, regulatory, and legal risks, and recovering assets that are fraudulently misappropriated. Losses typically range between $25,000 to $500,000. You share responsibility for all components of the Fraud Management Value Chain with peers and the Senior Manager. You will lead recovery efforts for losses due to fraud and misconduct against RBC and clients.

Job Summary
What will you do?
  • Identify sources of recovery for RBC losses from fraud, unjust enrichment, operational errors, and other misconducts, and implement steps to realize on these sources.
  • Manage high-risk cases involving fraud against clients for recovery of losses and assets, including wire, ACH, and electronic payments.
  • Reduce recovery and litigation costs by assisting external counsel in preparing civil litigation filings and assembling necessary materials.
  • Ensure all litigation cases comply with policies and regulatory constraints.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of litigation progress in the case management system.
  • Keep information on losses and recoveries up-to-date in the CIS Wire database and report quarterly.
  • Negotiate settlement terms related to recovery of amounts lost due to fraud or misconduct.
  • Manage civil judgments and writs, ensuring renewals within timeframe.
  • Update restitution records and ensure payments are credited properly.
  • Support the development and implementation of asset recovery strategies.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Knowledge of the Bills of Exchange Act, CPA Rules, and Civil/Criminal Law.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with RBC policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tracing skills.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Ability to lead through knowledge, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Experience gathering and preserving evidence for court presentations.
Nice-to-have
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Investigation or audit experience.
  • Basic accounting and business law courses.
