Job summary

Crafty Penguins is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Specialist to collaborate with our team and support a growing client base. The role emphasizes creative problem solving, customer relations, and ongoing learning in a fully remote setup.

You will work with Linux, open source tools, containers, and cloud platforms, tackling complex issues and helping optimize client infrastructure. The position requires strong scripting and a proactive, self-managed approach.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Networking.
• Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCloud, Digital Ocean).
• Debugging Unix-based systems and IP networking at a low level.
• Experience with RHEL or Debian distributions.
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• 5+ years in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and handle client requests.
• Handle client system alerts and patching.
• Perform health checks and deployments per SOPs.
• Onboard new clients and plan infrastructure roadmaps.
• Track time for all hours worked.
• Some afterhours work may be required.
• Collaborate with a team to deliver solutions and have fun.
