Crafty Penguins is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Specialist to join our remote team. You will solve complex technical problems, maintain client relationships, and continuously learn new technologies.

The role covers Linux, cloud, and container ecosystems with a strong emphasis on reliability and security. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Linux/DevOps, experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and scripting, and a passion for open source.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
• Strong networking fundamentals and cloud provider experience.
• Experience debugging container workloads and orchestration tools.
• Scripting in Bash and Python; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients and handle system requests and alerts.
• Perform patching, health checks, and deployments via SOPs.
• Onboard new clients and create roadmaps for improving infrastructure.
• Time tracking and occasional afterhours work as needed.
