Crafty Penguins is hiring a senior Linux Systems Specialist - Tier 3 for remote work. You will tackle complex Linux and container challenges, design scalable infrastructure, and engage with clients to deliver robust solutions.

The role emphasizes learning, adaptability, and strong communication while supporting diverse client environments. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Linux/DevOps, proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms, and a passion for open source.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Linux-based operating systems.
• Advanced networking knowledge and experience with cloud providers.
• Experience debugging Linux containers and orchestration tools.
• Strong scripting in Bash and Python; able to work independently.
• 5+ years in similar Linux/DevOps roles.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to understand infrastructure needs and issues.
• Handle client system alerts and perform patching and health checks.
• Deploy infrastructure using SOPs and document changes.
• Onboard new clients and create improvement roadmaps.
• Time-track all hours and accommodate occasional after-hours work.
• Collaborate with a remote team to design scalable solutions.
• Contribute to performance tuning and troubleshooting of deployments.
