Job summary

City of Burnaby is seeking an enthusiastic Line Dance Instructor to lead classes for older adults at Confederation Community Centre. You will create a positive, inclusive environment and teach a variety of line dance styles from beginner to intermediate, fostering activity and social connection.

Candidates should have a background in dance education and a current First Aid with CPR C/AED or willingness to obtain certification. A Police Information Check may be required.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Dance, such as a Bachelor of Fine Arts or combination of teaching and related practice.
• First-aid certificate with CPR C and AED or willingness to obtain certification prior to start.
• Police Information Check may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Teach line dance to older adults, from beginner to intermediate levels.
• Create fun and welcoming classes that encourage activity, connection, and enjoyment of music.
• Instruct a range of line dance styles from classic to contemporary; adapt to different age groups.
