Job summary

Ampersand World SA in Montreal seeks an experienced Senior Lentils Trader to lead the company’s international lentils trading activities. You will manage an established portfolio, develop new business with importers and buyers, and negotiate physical trading transactions.

The role requires deep knowledge of lentils markets, strong relationships with international partners, and the ability to expand export volumes while maintaining profitability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in international physical lentils trading.
• Active customer portfolio, ideally in Southern Europe and/or South America.
• Strong relationships with international importers, distributors or industrial buyers.
• Ability to independently manage and develop a trading book.
• Solid understanding of physical commodity transactions, pricing, margins and execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an international lentils customer portfolio.
• Generate business through an established network of importers and buyers.
• Negotiate and execute physical trading transactions.
• Develop export volumes while maintaining profitability.
• Identify new customers and opportunities across markets.
• Coordinate with Canadian sourcing, processing and logistics operations.
• Gradually assume commercial responsibilities as part of succession planning.
