Job summary

Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) is seeking a Legal Counsel to support three Canadian businesses, with emphasis on Delta Controls Inc. and Trihedral.

The role combines commercial contracting with day-to-day compliance and corporate support, working with sales, product, HR, and finance, as well as Delta’s Taiwan headquarters legal team. The successful candidate will draft and negotiate complex agreements, advise on IP protection and privacy, ensure regulatory compliance, and

Qualifications

• JD/LLB or equivalent law degree.
• Membership in good standing with a Canadian provincial law society (BC or Ontario preferred).
• At least 7 years of relevant commercial or technology legal experience, in-house or at a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier and channel agreements—master purchase, distribution, reseller, sales representative and system integrator agreements; software licenses, SaaS/cloud, subscription terms, EULAs; NDAs; and related agreements.
• Support privacy and cybersecurity compliance under applicable provincial laws, and manage data processing agreements and incident response.
• Advise on IP protection, open source usage, and software licensing/ownership; assist with employment law and export controls; maintain corporate records and governance; manage outside counsel and budget; and escalate disputes as needed.
