Job summary

Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) is seeking a Legal Counsel to support three Canadian businesses with primary focus on Delta Controls Inc. and Trihedral, handling commercial contracts, privacy and compliance, and corporate support.

You will collaborate with sales, product, engineering, HR and finance, and coordinate with Delta’s headquarters legal team in Taiwan. Ontario or BC based, on-site in Surrey or Ottawa.

Qualifications

• JD/LLB or equivalent law degree and bar admission in a Canadian province (BC or Ontario preferred).
• At least 7 years of relevant commercial or technology legal experience, in-house or at a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier and channel agreements including master purchase, distribution, reseller, sales representative and system integrator agreements.
• Negotiate software licenses, SaaS/cloud and subscription terms, EULAs, and support and maintenance agreements.
• Advise on IP protection, open source use, and software licensing/ownership.
• Support privacy and cybersecurity compliance under applicable laws and data processing agreements.
