Job summary

IEM is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer for our Surrey, BC location. The role focuses on lean transformation, kaizen delivery, and data‑driven process improvement reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager.

The position requires 100% on-site presence in Surrey, with day-to-day coaching of operations and cross‑functional teams to sustain improvements and build CI capability across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business, operations, or related field.
• 7-10+ years in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement.
• Led 10+ kaizen events from concept to sustained implementation.
• Proven success implementing and sustaining Daily Management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to move production lines from batch toward flow.

Responsibilities

• Lead Operational Transformation: kaizen events, line balancing, standard work, visual management.
• Drive Root-Cause Problem Solving using PDCA, A3, 8D methodologies.
• Build Capability & Culture: mentor engineers, train CI practices.
• Measure & Sustain Impact: manage KPIs, track budgets and impact metrics.
• Manufacturing floor presence: spend significant time on the shop floor observing, coaching, facilitating.
