Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) in Surrey, BC seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead lean initiatives on the shop floor.

This is a hands-on, 100% in-office role reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager and joining a team driving kaizen events, standard work, and data-driven improvements. You will analyze data, map processes, design standard work, balance lines, and coach operators and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field.
• 3–5 years in manufacturing or operations environment.
• Co-led or led 3+ kaizen events or improvement projects; hands-on experience with standard work or line balancing preferred.
• Demonstrated success implementing and sustaining changes in manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working on the production floor with operators and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Kaizen Events & Projects on assigned production lines: standard work design, line balancing, Daily Management setup, visual controls, 5S, SMED, error-proofing.
• Analyze data & identify root causes; test ideas before full rollouts and present findings to leadership.
• Implement & sustain changes with operations teams; set up Daily Management huddles and audit standard work compliance.
• Build capability by training operators on PDCA, root-cause thinking, and lean methods; document best practices.
