Job summary

Bombardier in Dorval, Canada seeks a seasoned Operations leader to drive manufacturing strategies, optimize processes, and sustain high-performance KPIs. You will guide cross-functional teams, liaise with internal and external partners, and champion continuous improvement in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years at Bombardier or equivalent, 5+ years supervisory experience in a unionized environment, and bilingual communication skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience at Bombardier or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Bilingual (English/French) required for role.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to achieve results.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing strategies and support their implementation.
• Conduct in-depth analyses to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Generate detailed plans aligned with master schedules, ensuring communication, tracking, and progress follow-up.
• Develop and implement robust and efficient operational processes.
• Maintain KPIs and director-level operational dashboards.
• Identify major operational issues and propose effective action plans.
• Demonstrate leadership in resolving complex problems.
• Act as a high-level liaison between various operations groups during escalations.
• Coordinate activities with internal teams, partners, external suppliers, and/or customers.
• Support cost control and financial performance monitoring.
• Develop and coach leaders on management competencies.
• Provide indirect supervision during absences or replacements.
• Promote a work environment based on teamwork and open communication.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a college or university degree in aeronautics, engineering, operations management or a related field.
• You have a minimum of 12 years of experience at Bombardier or equivalent.
• You have at least five (5) years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• You demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills to achieve results.
• You show managerial courage when leading personnel.
• You are available, flexible, and motivated by a dynamic and evolving environment.
• You have excellent communication and leadership skills.
• You are bilingual.
