The purpose of this position is to provide leadership on civil engineering aspects, assisting our clients in advancing their projects through the application of cost-effective and technically sound solutions suitable for various project development phases, from scoping and feasibility studies to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. This role aims to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global resources development marketplace by delivering high-quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The position supports the Area Lead or Engineering Lead on assigned projects and involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques to challenging assignments.

As a Senior/Lead Civil Engineer, you are expected to:
  1. Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop cost-effective total project solutions for the discipline engineering work aligned with project requirements at different development stages.
  2. Manage and integrate work within Fluor’s scope with other service providers to deliver fit-for-purpose project outcomes.
  3. Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
  4. Perform and verify calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderate to complex engineering problems.
  5. Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation such as engineering study reports, memoranda, scope of work, and selection recommendations.
  6. Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
  7. Review discipline-specific and interdisciplinary deliverables for compliance and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  8. Possess strong technical knowledge in civil engineering subjects like hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, roadwork, earthworks, and utility infrastructure design.
  9. Lead a civil engineering team on resource project development and construction in areas such as:
  • Plant site development earthwork
  • Access road and infrastructure
  • Storm drainage management
  • Underground utilities
  • Water supply and transportation
  • Open channel and pressurized process solutions and slurry transportation
  • Leach pad and solution management systems
  • Mine waste development and environmental protection
  • Construction packages and civil works contract development
  • Manage the civil task force’s budget and schedule to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and review material estimates, schedules, progress reports, and effort-hour estimates.
  • Monitor material quantities, provide analysis, and forecast project needs.
