Job Title: Senior Land Surveyor
My client is a top-notch Civil Engineering Consulting firm actively seeking a Senior Land Surveyor familiar with the LA market. As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing management, leadership, guidance, and performance tracking of multiple survey crews and technicians to ensure successful project completion. The Senior Surveyor utilizes appropriate staff members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods.
- Research sufficient property information to prepare detailed scopes, budgets, and schedules for surveying projects.
- Assign research and other survey tasks to surveyors or assistants.
- Review research findings.
- Mentor Survey Technicians and other Surveyors.
- Implement effective practices, methods, techniques, and equipment for land surveying.
- Verify and utilize current applicable regulations when overseeing project work.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills.
- Aptitude to understand Caltrans format calculations, alignments, and instructions for fieldwork.
- Knowledge of CAD software for preparing survey plats and exhibits.
- Thorough understanding of survey equipment, practices, and software including GPS surveying.
- Effective communication with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
- Travel may be required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or minor in Land Surveying preferred.
- Professional Land Surveyor license.
- Minimum of 14 years of experience with a degree, or 20 years of equivalent experience.
