David Aplin Recruiting is assisting a well-established engineering, construction, and industrial services leader in Edmonton, AB to find a Labour Relations Specialist. The ideal candidate has hands-on CLAC experience and a strong construction background, with duties spanning grievances, investigations, and collective agreement interpretation.

Role involves travel to project sites across Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan, with in-office hours Mon-Thurs and remote Fridays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Labour Relations and/or Employee Relations experience.
• Direct, hands-on CLAC experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience with grievances, investigations, discipline, and collective agreement interpretation.
• Strong construction experience is required, particularly from a unionized environment.
• Experience with a multi-trade, unionized workforce.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to resource for Labour and Employee Relations matters.
• Support project teams and supervisors with grievances, investigations, discipline, and employee relations issues.
• Interpret and apply CLAC collective agreements.
• Build strong relationships with CLAC representatives, employees, supervisors, and project leadership.
• Support collective bargaining, pre-job meetings, and other labour relations initiatives.
• Investigate and resolve employee and pay-related issues using Excel and available data.
• Travel to project sites across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan as required.
• Partner with HR leadership and operational teams to support a growing workforce.
