Job summary

The role requires strong Java 11, REST APIs, Kubernetes, and database expertise, plus experience with CI/CD, Git, Linux, and Agile practices. 12-month contract with a focus on quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience building enterprise-grade microservices using Java 11.
• Strong proficiency in RESTful API design and API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Strong front-end development capability in React or Angular.
• Deep expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or DB2).
• Experience with Kubernetes and modern microservices architectures in production.
• Python and Unix shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
• Experience with unit testing using JUnit; TDD/BDD a plus.
• Git-based workflows and CI/CD using Jenkins.
• Linux environments and CLI proficiency.
• Agile methodologies; experience with Jira.
• Write clean, maintainable code per enterprise standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Open to occasional weekends.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality Java applications within a multi-tier enterprise environment.
• Ensure code aligns with architectural standards and integration patterns.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver features.
• Build proofs of concepts to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
• Participate in design discussions and influence architectural direction.
• Investigate production issues with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Support all SDLC phases including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
• Foster a culture of quality and knowledge sharing.
