Job summary

Henry Schein One Canada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our True North team in Surrey, BC. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend services for Dentrix Ascend, a cloud-based practice management platform used in the US market.

You’ll collaborate with Product, UX, and Quality teams, solve complex problems, and help mature our cloud-native stack while mentoring others and driving technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with web or SaaS apps.
• Proven experience with Java and modern OO software design.
• Strong RESTful API design, data modeling, and SQL/ORM knowledge.
• Experience in cloud-based environments and CI/CD workflows.
• Agile methodologies, teamwork, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software for the Dentrix Ascend platform.
• Build backend services, APIs, database integrations, and user-facing features.
• Translate product requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Mentor peers and participate in code reviews to improve quality.
