In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deliver reliable software for a complex SaaS platform used by dental professionals throughout their day. You will work across the development lifecycle, contribute to technical decisions, resolve complex production issues, and help improve the quality and maintainability of the codebase.

This is a hands‑on individual contributor role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across disciplines, and supporting the growth of other developers. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, UX, and Quality partners across our distributed organization.

  • Contribute to technical design discussions and make recommendations that balance delivery, scalability, performance, and long‑term maintainability
  • Write clean, secure, well‑tested code and participate actively in code reviews
  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Improve application performance, reliability, monitoring, and development workflows
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Quality, and other engineering teams throughout planning and delivery
  • Support engineering modernization initiatives, including framework, architecture, and tooling improvements
  • Mentor other developers through code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance
  • Contribute to team standards and engineering practices while remaining accountable for your own delivery commitments
  • Explore practical ways to use AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality
What You’ll Bring

  • Experience with Groovy, Grails, Spring, or a comparable Java‑based framework
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modelling, and ORM frameworks
  • Experience writing unit, integration, and automated tests
  • Experience working with cloud‑based applications and modern development environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, version control, containerization, and production monitoring
  • Experience diagnosing performance, reliability, or scalability issues in production systems
