Altis Technology in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design and build Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and AI-enabled features on Azure. You will work with experienced engineers and AI practitioners to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

The role emphasizes security, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD with Azure DevOps, using Spring AI, Copilot Studio, and Azure Foundry SDK to deploy reliable, scalable applications.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with AI frameworks and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs while integrating Large Language Models using the Spring - AI framework.
• Build, deploy, and operationalize AI solutions using the Azure AI Foundry SDK, including agents, prompts, and evaluation runs.
• Configure Copilot Studio, including user authentication, custom REST actions, and orchestration topics.
• Secure enterprise APIs using OAuth 2.0 and JWT, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and application deployments through Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, intelligent, cloud-native applications.

Skills and Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong experience developing cloud-native applications within Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Spring AI, Azure AI Foundry SDK, and Copilot Studio.
• Solid understanding of API security, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT authentication.
• Working knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including building and consuming MCP servers and tools for agent-to-system integration.
• Strong experience with Docker containerization and modern CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts, along with excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
