Join to apply for the Senior IT Vendor Manager role at BMO.

This is a hybrid role, based out of Toronto, reporting directly to the Director of EDB and Lending Technology and Platform Modernization. The Senior Manager of Vendor Applications manages day-to-day operations and maintains the department. The role involves overseeing relationships with third-party vendors providing technical services, ensuring compliance, performance, and cost-effectiveness, and managing the vendor lifecycle from onboarding to renewal. The ideal candidate will have strong work capacity, a bias for action, experience in Program and Stakeholder Management, and a passion for building capabilities and relationships. They should be comfortable interfacing with various teams at all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Vendor Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships, acting as a primary contact, and ensuring effective communication.
  2. Performance Monitoring: Tracking vendor performance against SLAs, identifying improvements, and addressing issues promptly.
  3. Contract Negotiation: Managing vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms, and overseeing onboarding.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring vendor compliance with policies, regulations, and standards; mitigating risks.
  5. Project Management: Overseeing vendor-related projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  6. Technical Expertise: Possessing a strong understanding of IT systems, software, and infrastructure to evaluate vendor capabilities.
  7. Collaboration: Aligning vendor management with organizational goals through internal team collaboration.
  8. Cost Optimization: Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating pricing.
  9. Vendor Selection and Development: Evaluating vendors, conducting due diligence, and strategizing for vendor development.
  10. Onboarding and Training: Overseeing onboarding, training vendors, and setting expectations.
  11. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Leading a team of Technical Leads to address technical issues and escalate when necessary.
  12. Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring performance, analyzing data, and generating reports.
  13. Staying Current with Technology: Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience or certification in related fields.
  • Experience managing vendor programs.
  • Experience in IT with Cloud, AI, or ML background.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in influencing skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially across groups.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.
  • Proficient in data-driven decision making.
