Amazon Canada's Hardlines team is seeking a self-driven Sr. Vendor Manager candidate. Sr. Vendor managers own a business category and P&L, working directly with vendors to create value for Amazon Customers. They identify and source the best products and the lowest prices, and work with our product and operations teams to enable convenience for customers across their business. They play a critical role in managing strategic and established brands to drive profitability and topline performance for their category.

The candidate will use customer obsession, strong business judgement, and data to inform creative solutions to drive their business. The Sr. Vendor Manager will have the opportunity to engage with multiple internal teams to optimize product line performance for key manufacturers (vendors) on Amazon.ca. They will utilize strong communication skills to collaborate with internal cross-functional partners, such as site merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance to drive performance for our Amazon.ca vendor partners.


This position provides the candidate an opportunity to execute analytical deeps dives that help inform category growth strategies and initiatives. In addition to gaining vendor management experience, this candidate will have exposure in driving category growth. Amazon.ca Vendor Managers get the unique opportunity to work at the most innovative online retailer, while developing strong functional skills in online merchandising/marketing, buying, planning/forecasting, pricing, and business analytics.


Key job responsibilities

This role is responsible for leading key categories and brand relationships in the PC Devices industry for Amazon.ca and driving growth of the business. It includes building strong vendor and brand relationships, contract negotiations, selection and catalog, inventory optimization, forecast generation, product launches, pricing, and conducting detailed analysis to identify opportunities to drive growth for the vendor and Amazon.ca.


In this role, you will be managing top ingredient vendors (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) along with directly working with PC Laptops manufacturers. The role will include building a strategic roadmap by partnering with key PC Devices manufacturers.


As the P&L owner, you will also work cross functionally with other product, marketing, and operations teams across Amazon to raise the bar on customer experience.


About the team

The PC Devices team is a team of 5 based across North America (Seattle, Vancouver, and Toronto). We are responsible for buying and planning for PC devices category (Laptops, Chromebooks, Desktops, and Tablets). Our vision is to make Amazon the preferred destination for customers by offering them right selection, pricing, and merchandising. We work collaboratively with partner teams (finance, marketing, instock, etc.) and have regular connect with senior leadership on business deliverables and strategic alignment.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of with Excel experience
  2. 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
  3. Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
  5. Experience using data to influence business decisions
  6. Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  7. Experience with business analysis and P&L management
  8. Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
