Job summary

MERLIN – Digital and Technology Solutions in Winnipeg is hiring an IS4 Info Technologist 4 to lead IT security services across Manitoba’s education and government platforms. The role focuses on security architecture, incident response, and continuous monitoring for a multi-desktop, multi-platform environment.

The position requires a degree or diploma in IT or related fields, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking, IT or related field, or recognized information security certifications
• Experience with hardening a multi-tier environment
• Experience with continuous monitoring and intrusion detection
• Ability to develop policies, standards and procedures
• Develop and test enterprise incident response plans
• Experience with various OS, networking equipment such as firewalls, switches, and servers
• Demonstrated self-directed learning and strong analytical skills
• Strong client communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Lead IT security services design, implementation, and operation to support internal and client needs.
• Provide technical guidance on security matters and contribute to policy development.
• Oversee security monitoring, incident response, and staff training.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging threats and best practices to ensure strong security posture.
