The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to learn and grow with our team! This role is based in Toronto, Canada, or Boston, USA, supporting our transformation journey in our Global High Net Worth (GHNW) business. Our GHWN business is in the middle of a three-year transformation to build a new technology platform supporting our international broker business expansion across Asia and other jurisdictions. We are close to implementing a Salesforce platform to transform our New Business and Underwriting solutions, with multiple ongoing initiatives in areas like Policy Administration, Compensation, Customer/Broker Servicing portal, and Correspondence to build the new digital platform.

You will collaborate with various partners to elicit and understand business needs, making recommendations to deepen user stories that address problem statements and deliver value to end customers. Your positive approach, flexibility, and analytical creativity will help navigate this exciting growth phase. We seek passionate, motivated individuals to join our journey of innovation.

Work arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days from home

Work location: Toronto, Canada (highly preferred) or Boston, USA

Work timings: On call with Manulife Asia team early AM EST and/or evening EST hours regularly

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with business partners to analyze complex problems and understand goals.
• Support development of a three-year transformation roadmap for GHNW.
• Identify root causes and develop technical solutions.
• Translate business objectives into Epics, Features, User Stories.
• Translate insurance product specifications into technical requirements.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Create high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity.
• Develop and upgrade workflows aligned with strategy.
• Contribute to industry trends and best practices.
• Support testing and validation processes.
• Participate in communities of practice and industry standard methodologies.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of IT experience.
• 5+ years as a Technology Business Analyst, preferably in financial services supporting medium to large projects.
• Experience in Policy Administration and/or Illustration System.
• Knowledge of system design, analysis, and testing techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across dispersed teams.
• Experience supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and Agile/SCRUM experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with New Business and Underwriting in Life Insurance and Protection products.
• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Insurance industry knowledge, especially in High Net Worth products.
• Willingness to work unorthodox hours for different time zones.
