Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Western Canada Irrigation Leader to guide irrigation planning, design, and related water resources work for government, municipal, and private sector clients. You will lead engineering studies, design activities, and field investigations, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes delivering complex irrigation projects, with responsibilities in client engagement, business development, and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering required.
P.Eng with APEGA in Alberta or Saskatchewan required or eligible.
Minimum 8 years of experience in water resources or conveyance projects, with irrigation focus.

Responsibilities

Overseeing irrigation planning, design, and related water resources reporting.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with clients/consultants.
Coordinate field investigations and project data collection.
Lead client management, business development, and proposal preparation.
Assist in recruiting and developing irrigation specialization across the water team.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers and staff.
Attend trainings to ensure ongoing professional development and safety compliance.
Travel within Alberta and western Canada as needed.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
