Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Water Resources Engineer (Alberta and Saskatchewan) to support irrigation design and hydrological analyses across Western Canada. You will lead designs from concept through construction, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of irrigation experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and a P.Eng with APEGA. The role involves fieldwork, proposal support, and client engagement in a dynamic

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in water conveyance projects with emphasis on irrigation planning and design.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
Valid P.Eng with APEGA in Alberta is required.
Vehicle license (Class 5) and ability to work on-site in Western Canada.

Responsibilities

Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and specs for irrigation planning and water conveyance.
Lead project designs from concept to detailed design and construction.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide design direction.
Undertake field work and investigations as needed.
Assist in proposals and project management tasks.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers; support CPD activities.
Participate in training, safety, and compliance activities.
