Job summary

Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a Senior Investment Advisor Associate to support a team of financial advisors and the Branch Manager.

The role involves entering client trades, servicing requests, and maintaining accurate paperwork to ensure efficient daily operations. You will work closely with the lead advisor to manage client portfolios, participate in client meetings, and help prepare investment plans and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education is required.
  • IR Licensed or licensing within 1 year of hire.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Dataphile and FactSet experience is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of client investment portfolios with lead advisor.
  • Engage with clients, participate in meetings and promote disciplined investing.
  • Assist in research, asset mix decisions and investment selection.
  • Prepare investment policy statements, proposals and client reviews.
  • Execute trades and ensure IPS alignment with client objectives.
  • Collaborate with planning team on financial plans and reviews.
  • Maintain client communications and handle day-to-day requests.

How does the role impact the organization?

The primary role of the Senior Investment Advisor Associate is to support a team of financial advisors and the Branch Manager (BM) by ensuring the office is managed efficiently and effectively. The position is responsible for entering client trades, servicing client requests and processing trade instructions by phone, and ensuring client paperwork is up to date and accurate.

The candidate is a self-motivated individual with exceptional administrative skills and a dependable nature. The candidate will bring to the role an ability to work within deadlines both independently and as part of a team, proven effective time management skills, and a focus on customer service.

As a key member of the team, contributions are important to the success of the client relationship with the Financial Advisor, and to the success of the Branch as a whole..

What will your role be responsible for?
  • Work closely with the lead advisor to support the management of client investment portfolios.
  • Engage directly with clients, participate in client meetings and encourage disciplined investment behaviour.
  • Assist in research, analysis, asset mix decisions and investment selection
  • Prepare investment policy statements, proposals & client review presentations
  • Execute trades as required
  • Ensure portfolio models are kept aligned with clients objectives and IPS statements
  • Work closely with lead advisor and financial planning team on preparing and presenting financial plans
  • Liase with clients and accountants at tax time
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, objectivity, and expertise
  • Provide exemplary quality service, including phone, email, written & in-person communication
  • Prepare and review daily/monthly/annual reports, client correspondence and taking ownership of project work;
  • Process and follow up on security transactions and transfers;
  • Service clients’ general day-to-day requests; and

What do we expect from you?
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
  • Post-secondary education;
  • IR Licensed or successful completion of licensing within 1 year of hire;
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Experience with Dataphile and FactSet is an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Salary Range:

$50,000-55,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
