Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced insurance defence litigator in Ontario to manage complex files from intake through resolution. You will lead strategy, oversee pleadings and trial materials, and advise on liability and settlement opportunities.

The role requires nine years of relevant experience, strong advocacy, and ability to mentor junior lawyers, with a focus on civil procedure and insurance litigation principles.

Qualifications

• Earned law degree (Juris Doctor) or equivalent.
• Must be in good standing with provincial law society.
• Extensive trial and hearings experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex insurance defence litigation files (bodily injury, commercial liability, subrogation).
• Develop and lead litigation strategy from intake to resolution.
• Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, mediations, motions, applications, and pre-trials.
• Prepare pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, and trial records.
• Provide strategic legal advice on liability, damages, coverage, causation, and settlement opportunities.
