Job description

Our reputable client in the legal space is currently seeking a Lawyer, Insurance Defense to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and well-established litigation practice. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload and work closely with experienced counsel on a variety of insurance defense matters. This role is based out of their head office in Hamilton.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense files
• Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trial conferences, and motions
• Represent clients in various stages of litigation
• Collaborate with senior counsel and colleagues on complex matters
• Handle matters before the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT), including case conferences and hearings
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients and insurers

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload
