Qualifications

• Approximately 4–7 years of post-call litigation experience.
• Experience in insurance defence litigation; professional liability experience considered a strong asset.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to independently manage files and competing priorities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and client-service skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in professional liability litigation and possibly professional regulation.

Responsibilities

• Managing and assisting with professional liability and other insurance defence files.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, mediation materials, legal opinions and other litigation documents.
• Conducting examinations for discovery, mediations and motions.
• Developing litigation strategy and providing practical, responsive advice to clients.
• Working with insurers, insured professionals, experts and other stakeholders.
• Assisting with hearings, trials and other contested proceedings; and
• Potentially working on professional regulatory and disciplinary matters.
