Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project – Mining Hydrogeologist to join their growing mining services team in British Columbia. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work on complex mining projects across Canada and internationally, while providing technical expertise, project leadership, client management, and business development support.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering hydrogeological solutions throughout the mining lifecycle, including feasibility studies, operations support, environmental assessments, water management, and mine closure planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead hydrogeology programs for mining projects across all stages of the mining lifecycle
• Manage large, multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with geotechnical, hydrology, environmental, and geochemistry specialists
• Provide technical oversight for groundwater investigations, dewatering programs, seepage management, water supply development, and hydrogeological characterization studies
• Review and oversee groundwater flow, geological, water balance and water quality models
• Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships within the mining industry
• Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and strategic growth opportunities
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate hydrogeologists
• Participate in site visits and field programs at remote mining locations within Canada and internationally

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
• Professional designation with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as P.Ge or P.En
• Minimum 18 years of experience in hydrogeology, with significant exposure to the mining sector
• Strong understanding of mining-related environmental regulations and permitting requirement
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale hydrogeological studies and mining water management project
• Proven success managing clients, project teams, and technical deliverable
• Established professional network within the mining industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Ability and willingness to travel to remote sites and internationally as require
• Legal authorization to work in Canada without restriction

Preferred Experience

• Groundwater flow modeling using MODFLOW and/or FEFLOW
• Geological modeling using Leapfrog
• Water balance and water quality modeling using GoldSim
• Experience supporting feasibility studies, operations, environmental assessments, due diligence reviews, and mine closure planning
• Spanish language proficiency is considered an asset
