Great Gulf is seeking a talented and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Toronto for a 14 month Contract.

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Business Partner will provide best in class Human Resources service and support to assigned client groups and business partners. Responsible for reviewing, maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources strategy by executing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR inquiries for assigned client groups.
  • Provide day to day HR leadership, advice, counsel and strategic support to assigned client groups.
  • Work in collaboration with HR counterparts in other lines of business to promote best practices.
  • Identify and make processes improvement recommendations to elevate the quality of HR services.
  • Stay apprised of all applicable employment legislation, ensuring legal compliance.
  • In partnership with the Vice President, Human Resources, review, research, create and implement new HR policies and procedures.
  • Work with department leads on talent management and succession planning.
  • Establish and administer a performance management & review system.
  • Manage all employee relations matters in a timely, professional manner.
  • Ensure all job descriptions for assigned client groups are current and updated as needed.
  • Act as a thought partner with managers to improve people-related priorities.
  • Assist leaders with strategic planning and forecasting needs regarding people and culture.
  • Provide guidance to line management on a broad range of human resource policies.
  • Act as an initial point of contact for managers and employees.
  • Coach business leaders on HR and people management practice.
  • Analyze HR data to identify insights and convert these into recommendations.
  • Apply project management techniques to planning and implementing HR initiatives.
  • Strong consultation skills and experience influencing and interacting with executives.
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management practices and employment legislation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • HRPA designation or working towards it considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources Management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Experience implementing programs and resolving HR issues.
  • Broad knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to provide reliable advice.

SUPERVISION & BUDGET AUTHORITY

  • This role does not have supervisory or budgetary oversight.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoors in a shared office space.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and operate a computer for long periods.
