The Opportunity:

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Business Partner will provide exceptional client support to the business. As a trusted professional, this role acts as the front-facing business partner, utilizing strong business acumen to support client groups. This position will be fully integrated within the business areas, committed to understanding the needs of clients and the overall business. The ideal candidate has a proven reputation for being a cultural role model and has successfully influenced cultural behaviors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with Recruitment to ensure the smooth delivery of all recruitment processes, including reviewing job scopes and determining equitable compensation with managers.
  2. Manage and maintain the company’s workforce plan.
  3. Influence and contribute to policy development, implementation, employee communication strategies, and employee development programs.
  4. Interact with company leaders to establish credibility and build effective working relationships that facilitate coaching channels.
  5. Provide coaching and resources to employees and managers regarding career development, compensation, recruiting, performance management, and employee relations.
  6. Utilize HR metrics and analytics to identify trends and proactively address areas of need.
  7. Support compensation processes, including annual salary reviews and bonus administration.
  8. Investigate employee relations issues, maintaining confidentiality, consistency, and sensitivity.
  9. Coach, counsel, and guide leaders before implementing disciplinary actions, including facilitating employee terminations.
  10. Collaborate with departments to identify employee training needs and source training providers.
  11. Identify and implement tactics to enhance employee engagement across the company.
  12. Assist in developing core employee training programs and leader mentorship initiatives.
  13. Back-up Payroll functions related to benefits and payroll activities as needed.
  14. Complete industry-related HR surveys.
  15. Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of broad Human Resources generalist experience.
  3. CPHR designation is considered an asset.
  4. Strong technical background with thorough knowledge of provincial legislation.
  5. Solid experience in employee relations, including conducting workplace investigations.
  6. Experience in developing and delivering new policies and programs is an asset.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ease in public speaking.
  9. Strong team player who promotes professionalism, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  10. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
  11. High levels of integrity and confidentiality.
  12. Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
