Job summary

Birla Carbon is seeking a Health and Safety & Environmental Manager to develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and programs ensuring safe working conditions and legal compliance. The role collaborates across the organization, manages WSIB processes, and leads training and audits to strengthen safety performance.

In this on-site position, you will drive safety initiatives, engage with regulatory bodies, and promote a culture of continuous improvement within a petrochemical manufacturing

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical manufacturing.
• Professional Safety designation.
• Expert WSIB claims management experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains safety programs, measures, and reporting.
• Collaborates with all levels to improve safety performance.
• Manages WSIB claims and return-to-work programs.
• Ensures compliance with safety laws, policies, and audits.
• Carries out H&S training and awareness initiatives.
• Implements site-specific H&S orientations for staff and contractors.
• Monitors regulatory inspections and promotes compliance.
• Supports continuous improvement and ethics in safety.
