Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a senior Health & Safety leader to drive enterprise-wide safety initiatives across Canada. You will champion a zero-injury culture, rollout a new safety platform, and modernize SOPs to ensure audit-ready compliance at every site.

The role requires 7–9 years of H&S experience, deep knowledge of OHS regulations, and experience with enterprise software implementations. CRSP is an asset, engineering or H&S degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 7-9 yrs H&S experience
• In-depth knowledge of federal and provincial OHS legislation
• Enterprise software implementation and change management
• SOP and safety standards development
• Cross-functional influence and leadership
• Incident investigation and risk assessment
• Data-driven safety performance analysis
• CRSP designation an asset
• Degree in Engineering or H&S

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise rollout of safety platform across sites with training and data integrity
• Standardize SOPs to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
• Drive a proactive safety culture reducing incidents and lost-time
• Governance, auditing and corrective-action routines for compliance
• Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators and report to leadership
• Hazard identification, risk assessment and corrective-action tracking
• Lead H&S training and certification programs
• Emergency preparedness and crisis-response planning
• Design, pilot and scale enterprise safety initiatives aligned with H&S strategy
• Partner with VP H&S to develop multi-year strategy and operating plan
• Develop a high-performing H&S team through coaching and development
