Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Highway Lead – Alberta to join our Edmonton team. You will oversee major highway projects from design through construction, while leading client relationships and business development. This role demands senior leadership across a multidisciplinary team.

You will mentor staff, drive delivery excellence, and contribute to strategic planning within our Transportation group, helping shape Alberta projects and expand CIMA+’s presence across Western Canada.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Technologist degree per stated.
  • P.Eng. or equivalent in good standing with APEGA, or eligible.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive highway project delivery experience in Alberta.
  • Experience delivering for Alberta Transportation and TEC.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • PMP designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on senior project management across the full lifecycle for major highway projects.
  • Lead scope, schedules, budgets, and quality control to meet client expectations.
  • Develop Project Execution Plans, QA/QC, risk registers, and health & safety plans.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic, drainage, and environmental disciplines.
  • Serve as primary client contact with TEC, City of Edmonton, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead Indigenous engagement initiatives where applicable.
  • Support construction delivery through contract administration oversight and change management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities; contribute to capture planning and proposals.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior staff and contribute to strategic planning in Transportation.
