Job summary

Imperial Oil is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians to join the Kearl Oilsands team on a 14/14 FIFO rotation, working on CAT and Komatsu mining equipment in a demanding oilsands environment. The role emphasizes diagnostic and repair expertise, leadership, and mentoring of apprentices.

You will coordinate work with operations, document maintenance, and uphold a strong safety culture while enjoying a camp-based, full-time opportunity with relocation support and transport from Fort

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in oilsands or large-scale mining operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on CAT and Komatsu mining equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance and component replacements per OEM standards.
• Document work performed, parts used, and labor hours in maintenance systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and improve equipment availability.
• Mentor apprentices and provide technical guidance to peers.
