Job summary

WSP Canada seeks a Senior Health Risk Assessment Specialist to shape environmental risk management across Canada. You will translate scientific evidence into practical strategies that protect people and ecosystems, and lead multidisciplinary assignments in the natural resources sector.

You will mentor professionals, provide technical leadership on complex risk assessments, and help grow WSP's national practice with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• What candidates must have: a degree in Toxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience leading human health and ecological risk assessments in environmental consulting, industry, or government.
• Familiarity with Canadian federal and provincial risk assessment frameworks and regulatory processes.
• Strong writing and communication for senior risk assessment reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead human health and ecological risk assessments and related environmental health studies across Canada.
• Provide senior technical direction in toxicology, exposure assessment, risk characterization, and regulatory interpretation.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams to integrate science and regulatory expertise into clear solutions.
• Develop risk management strategies for remediation, environmental approvals, and contaminated sites.
• Build client relationships and identify opportunities to grow technical services.
• Mentor emerging risk assessment professionals and contribute to national practice growth.
