Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Health Risk Assessment Specialist to shape environmental risk management across Canada. You will provide technical leadership on complex human health and ecological risk assessment projects, translating scientific evidence into practical strategies to protect people and ecosystems and support sustainable development.

You will lead multidisciplinary assignments, mentor professionals, and contribute to the growth of WSP's national Environmental Risk Assessment practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Toxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience conducting and leading human health and ecological risk assessments in environmental consulting, industry, or government.
• Demonstrated expertise in Canadian federal and provincial risk assessment frameworks, technical guidance, and regulatory processes.
• Advanced knowledge of toxicology, exposure modelling, fate and transport concepts, risk characterization, and environmental health science.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects, budgets, schedules, quality reviews, and multidisciplinary teams toward defensible outcomes.

• A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Toxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive progressive experience conducting and leading human health and ecological risk assessments in environmental consulting, industry, or government.
• Demonstrated expertise in Canadian federal and provincial risk assessment frameworks, technical guidance, and regulatory processes.
• Advanced knowledge of toxicology, exposure modelling, fate and transport concepts, risk characterization, and environmental health science.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects, budgets, schedules, quality reviews, and multidisciplinary teams toward defensible outcomes.
• Strong technical writing and review capability, including authorship of senior‑level risk assessment reports and clear communication of complex findings.
• Experience building client relationships, developing proposals, supporting strategic planning, and pursuing opportunities that grow technical services.
• A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel periodically to client sites and project locations.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $110,600 - $146,500
• MB & ON: $100,900 - $139,000
• NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $99,900 - $132,700
