Job summary

The Clinical Analyst, Health Analytics at Humber River Health works closely with Directors and leaders to capture requests, understand underlying business needs, and translate them into analytics solutions that inform decision-making and improve patient care.

You’ll help design KPIs and dashboards, pre-process data from multiple sources, document requirements, and collaborate with developers to deploy robust reporting that supports clinicians, researchers and hospital executives.

Qualifications

  • 5 Years experience in healthcare required
  • 2-3 Years experience in analytics / using analytic tools (e.g. SAS, R Studio, Tidyverse) required
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Professional Certifications in CHIM or PMP preferred
  • Regulated Health Professional preferred
  • Experience with BI Solutions, predictive analytics, machine learning preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with leaders and clinicians

Responsibilities

  • Meets with clinicians and leaders as required; provide an overview on analytic capabilities to support user requests
  • Attend program, review, utilization and/or budget meetings to identify opportunities to empower program areas with analytics
  • Provide dedicated support to identified program areas; obtain an intimate understanding of their operations
  • Support in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and/or outcome metrics
  • Identify opportunities to automate data, including data collection, tracking, trending and reporting
  • Create and validate data pipelines; ensure data quality and reliability
  • Translate business needs to operational analytics requirements (reports, dashboards)
  • Document requirements in use case format and create process models
  • Collaborate with developers to identify analytic solutions; act as a bridge between business and ICAT
  • Produce high quality ad hoc and standardized reports
  • Pre-process raw data; clean and merge data from multiple sources
  • Assist with writing project protocols including data extraction, cleaning, and validation plans
  • Assist with writing code to put analytic solutions into production
  • Write documentation and contribute to project repositories
  • Validate data outputs and ensure accuracy of analyses
  • Prepare presentations for leadership and stakeholders
  • Conduct exploratory and statistical analyses; coordinate with finance for staffing data
