Job summary

CloudFactory is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to set the technical direction for our cloud-native platform across multiple teams, ensuring our most critical systems are reliable, secure, and built to scale.

You will partner with Product, engineering leadership, and clients to shape architectural strategy, resolve the highest-stakes technical trade-offs, and mentor senior engineers across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert-level cloud-native proficiency (Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, networking and cloud security at scale.
• Strong background in microservices, async messaging and data consistency.
• Experience with CI/CD automation and observability stacks (New Relic/Prometheus/ELK).
• Ability to lead client-facing technical conversations and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Cross-team architectural leadership and setting technical direction.
• Own reliability, performance, and security posture of critical systems built in Go.
• Drive CI/CD, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code practices across the org.
• Define and uphold standards for reliability, observability, and security.
• Lead strategic technical trade-offs shaping multi-quarter roadmaps.
• Serve as senior technical voice in client engagements and proofs-of-concept.
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering practice across teams.
