Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Geomatics Specialist to contribute to environmental analyses and QA of geospatial data for the ALTO project. You will work with GIS, environmental, engineering, and design teams to define analysis methods, investigate data issues, and communicate findings.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in geomatics or related field and at least five years of relevant experience, including environmental projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geomatics, geography, environmental science, engineering, or related discipline.
• Five+ years of relevant experience, including at least three years in environmental, infrastructure, or multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience with ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise; strong Excel and Word skills.
• Advanced spatial analysis, modelling, geoprocessing, data interpretation, QA/QC experience.
• Knowledge of FME, Python, ModelBuilder or automation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and document spatial analysis, validation, and quality control methods for environmental data.
• Perform advanced spatial analyses, geoprocessing, and modelling to support studies and decisions.
• Assess dataset quality: completeness, accuracy, topology, coordinates, metadata.
• Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Interpret results and communicate findings to technical and non-technical teams.
• Design and produce thematic maps and geospatial deliverables for multidisciplinary studies.
• Coordinate quality control with GIS technicians and provide guidance.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards, naming conventions, and traceability.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, controls, results, and decisions clearly.
