Job Description

You will be responsible for your discipline. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team comprising geotechnical and geological engineers, as well as environmental specialists.

Your expertise in soil mechanics will enable you to contribute to projects involving design, rehabilitation, or construction of buildings, structures, earthworks, slope stability, roads, foundations, and more.

By combining your skills with project management, you will add value through innovation, client support, and integrating CIMA+’s multidisciplinary expertise, all while prioritizing people in engineering.

Your contribution to the team

• Carry out and supervise geotechnical studies, including soundings, drillings, laboratory tests, and design recommendations.
• Inspect, assess safety, and upgrade earth dams.
• Coordinate studies, engineering, fieldwork, and relations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare technical documents, bids, plans, and specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization, and bank protection.
• Supervise, train, and guide junior staff, contributing to team development.

Your Project Management Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals, qualification files, and project deliverables.
• Manage projects: lead meetings, perform calculations, supervise deliverables.
• Analyze data to ensure quality and integrity of work.
• Handle administrative tasks: timesheets, invoicing, health and safety compliance.
• Support business development by promoting CIMA+ services.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or geological engineering with specialization in geotechnics.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Experience or Master’s in hydrogeology, rock mechanics, soil dynamics, or permafrost (asset).
• Knowledge of geotechnical software.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Proven teamwork skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
