Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to carry out geotechnical study projects of varying scales and mentor junior staff.

You will prepare proposals, review calculations, and collaborate with other departments to ensure project success. The role requires a long track record (15+ years) in geotechnics, advanced degrees preferred, and fluency in French with English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological, mining engineering or related field.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in geotechnics is an asset.
• More than 15 years of relevant experience in the field.
• Possess an ASP Construction card.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent spoken and written French.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite and software commonly used in geotechnics.

Responsibilities

• Carry out geotechnical study projects of various scales.
• Supervise and train junior and intermediate engineers.
• Participate in the administrative management of projects and associated personnel.
• Prepare proposals for professional services.
• Review and perform geotechnical engineering calculations (bearing capacity, settlements, slope stability, pavement, soil liquefaction, numerical modeling, etc.).
• Review technical reports and draft them when necessary.
• Collaborate actively with other departments to maintain existing synergy.
