Job summary

Thurber Engineering Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geoscientist specializing in Geohazards to join our team.

You will work on varied projects and develop your skills with mentorship from our senior staff. Applicants should have a post-secondary degree in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geoscience, 8+ years of relevant experience, a valid Class 5 driver's license, and be proficient in English.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary program in Civil or Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geoscience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering or Geoscience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's license and ability to drive in various environments.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; APEGA/EGBC membership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects and staff, including reviews of calculations and analyses.
• Coordinate cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, and scheduling.
• Scoping projects and assisting in proposals.
• Mentor and train staff and promote Thurber's values.
• Engage with clients and develop new business opportunities.
• Travel to project locations and client sites as required.
