Job summary

Thurber Engineering Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta, invites applications for an Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geoscientist - Geohazards.

You will lead diverse geotechnical projects across Canada, mentoring staff and coordinating with clients while traveling to site locations across Alberta and beyond. The role requires a post-secondary degree in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geoscience, 8+ years of relevant experience, and professional membership with APEGA/EGBC.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Civil/Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geoscience.
• 8+ years of relevant Geotechnical/Geoscience experience.
• Membership with APEGA and/or EGBC is preferred.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers license and ability to drive to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on projects and staff, including reviews of calculations and analyses.
• Coordinate cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client reports, and scheduling.
• Scope projects and assist in proposals.
• Mentor, coach, and train staff.
• Promote Thurber's mission, values and culture.
• Develop new business opportunities with Branch Manager.
• Establish and maintain client relationships.
• Participate in field activities as required to meet project objectives.
• Manage projects and multidisciplinary teams; travel to project sites and client offices.
