DS Consultants Ltd. (DS), a BluMetric company, seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer & Branch Manager in Ottawa to lead the office and deliver projects. You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and drive growth while ensuring safety and quality across sites.

The role requires Ontario-registered P.Eng., 8–10 years of geotechnical experience, and the ability to travel between DS offices and client sites in Ontario.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• 8–10 years in geotechnical, materials testing and construction.
• Strong project, client management and business development skills.
• Branch office leadership experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations and overall management of DS's office.
• Responsible for marketing and client liaison
• Recruitment and hiring of strategic staff
• Proposal preparation, budgeting, and client development
• Responsible for planning, management, and execution of projects and those of staff reporting to you to ensure effectiveness of the deployment of staff and resources to achieve DS objectives
• Prepare and oversee proposals on behalf of project managers, liaise with client and project initiation in line with DS standards
• Supervising and mentoring intermediate and senior engineers to enhance their capabilities
• Supervision and management of Office, along with training junior staff
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites

Key Qualifications, Skills & Education:

• University degree in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science from recognized institution
• Must be a registered and practicing Professional Engineer in Ontario
• 8 to 10 years of experience in the Geotechnical, Materials Testing and construction industry

• Strong project management, client management, and business development skills
• Proven leadership and team building experience
• Prior experience with running branch office or division is preferred
• Ability to travel between DS offices and sites within Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
• Organized, works well under pressure and able to multi-task is essential

• Must own a vehicle with insurance coverage and hold a Valid (G-Level) Ontario Driver's License
• Flexible to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks, and assignments, responding easily to changing priorities
